Random Tuesday un-Thoughts

I think Elmo is about the cheeriest fellow around. I mostly love his chuckle, and that it's generally about something dumb or inane he just did in the third person... "OOPS! Elmo just flushed his bunny down the toilet.. UH oh! Hee hee hee."

I can't win with this head cold that (YES), I still have. I can't hear anything, my voice is still hoarse, and I'm starting to sound really whiny. What's that? You noticed? Guess where you can stick those powers of observation?

UNC is in the Final Four! UNC is in the Final Four!

My 21-mo old toddler can open the fridge and get his own milk out now. He says, "MILLLLL--? MILLLLLLL--?" exactly TWICE, and if unanswered in 14.2 seconds, goes and gets it himself. I'm waiting for him to be able to drive me around and cook me breakfast, too. Maybe that's when it will dawn on me why I had kids!

I wish we'd get a sustained market rally. Then I could really earn my keep.

We had friends over this weekend that have a new (10-month old) puppy; she is a bird dog pedigree and they were still deciding whether to have her fixed. All of a sudden one day, her "glands" were red and swollen "back there," and she started "leaking". They realized with horror and sudden anxiety, that she was in heat. So they got advice from a humorist, who told them to put toddler underwear on her with several pads, which would then have to be changed daily. As soon as I heard this story and stopped laughing, I informed them that I had to post this on the blog. Pictures to follow. (Her appointment to be fixed has been made.)

My toddler calls the television "Tivo". As in, "turn off Tivo? Turn on Tivo?" He calls this thing I'm banging away on 'puter. When it dings for a new email, he says, "Uh oh, 'puter."

This Thursday, the greatest television series of ALL TIME will be ending.. the series finale of ER.

This post reminds me of every phone call with my Mom. Apple doesn't fall far..

Feeling random? Reading this post got your Random Post Generator revved up? Go check out other randoms at Keely's place, the Un-Mom. Tell her she looks really fit today.

Good morning! I love RTTs.

My little man calls it a 'puter too. Cracks me up.

Hope you feel better soon.

(Congrats on the final 4. The big J is in mourning over Pitt.)

In my teens we had a toy poodle that went into heat a lot! A loose Great Dane(Shad by name) was pretty excited, but couldn't figure out the mechanics to do the deed to a 10lb. dog...diapers worked well..

Laufa March 31, 2009 at 7:02 AM

Hope you feel better, soon!!!
Ew, about the glands. Awesome about your little man being a little independent!!

Mama Kat March 31, 2009 at 7:27 AM

I didn't realize our boys are so close in age! He just started doing the same thing...only he says "bok"...I mean...not even CLOSE to the work milk. Not. even. close. *hangs head in shame*

And for the record these just might be my favorite kinds of posts. I love reading them and I love writing them and I love that no matter who you are you should find something to comment about...and I love the comments. :)

Jenners March 31, 2009 at 7:31 AM would describe what Elmo does as a "chuckle"? I would describe it as a high-pitched unbelievably annoying giggle.

I love the toddler anecdotes. That stuff always cracks me up.

Whatever you do, I do NOT want to see photos of the dog in heat ... your description was quite enough thank you!

stoppin by from un moms RTT to say Hi...loved your randomness

Elmo is adorable. I wish I could be half as good natured!

As the mother of one kid in driver's ed and another taking it next year, you do not want them to drive you around. It is not fun!

Sprite's Keeper March 31, 2009 at 9:40 AM

Bwa! I relate SO much to this entire freaking post! Except the dog in heat. Blue was fixed YEARS ago. Sprite is just getting over her "third person" speech thing. She is now trying to open the fridge by herself so she can point to the "little juice". And she calls the computer "Daddy working" since he's usually near one when he's awake. Too funny!
Maybe a photo tutorial of our toddlerese language? That would be hysterical!

GreenJello March 31, 2009 at 10:10 AM

Maybe he's asking you to get Tivo. :)

I am really going to miss ER! sniff sniff

Elmo is a cheerful little dude, isn't he? You can't not like him.

Kitten March 31, 2009 at 2:24 PM

I'm not much of an Elmo fan. I still am hurting that he took over Big Bird's role. And the way he speaks about himself in the third person...Kitten doesn't like that. :P

H.K. March 31, 2009 at 2:27 PM

Wow, your toddler can get milk from the frigerator without spilling the milk? That is awesome!

I'm just hoping George Clooney will be in the ER finale! So, weird it won't be on anymore.

Elmo makes me crazy....
My dogs were fixed before I had the joy of diapering them (thank the Lord)
Hope your cold gets better soon.

The Rambler March 31, 2009 at 5:23 PM

Lisa M March 31, 2009 at 7:21 PM

wow that was totally random lol but I guess that was the point!

Just dropped in to welcome you to the SITStahood!

Keely March 31, 2009 at 8:03 PM

lol yeah I don't know why you would keep a dog intact unless you were planning to breed her.

I love toddlerese. So far X has the 'uh oh!' part down PAT :S

Casey March 31, 2009 at 8:44 PM

I'm saving up the entire season of ER to watch at once so don't tell me what happens.

I've heard that dogs in heat can bleed. Gross. Super gross.

I locked my fridge to keep my kids out since Graham kept licking ice cubes and then putting them back in.

FoN March 31, 2009 at 8:55 PM

I love ER too! I've watched that show faithfully for years. I'm totally sad it's done.

That dog story? Ew.

Angel March 31, 2009 at 11:43 PM

Oh! I love this RTT! Have a Good Week!

kel April 1, 2009 at 7:43 AM

I still call mine a puter!! so funny!

Lisa C. April 1, 2009 at 10:27 AM

Thanks for stopping by , and glad my story moved you... yours brought tears to my eyes as well... but mine were tears of laughter... I truly hope you feel better and the kiddo stays healthy... we keep sharing ours.. lol..

Stacy (the Random Cool Chick) April 1, 2009 at 6:18 PM

Princess Nagger loves Elmo, too... :)

Sorry you still have a head cold - hope you feel better soon!

I had to put locks on our fridge so the PN wouldn't keep opening the fridge and leaving the door open...had to replace the locks several times because hubby would forget and close them in the door, eventually breaking them... :)

Great randomness! Happy RTT a day late - I'm trying to get caught up! :)

Cara April 1, 2009 at 8:03 PM

A day late but visiting from Keely's RTT's.

Can totally relate to the Elmo & the milk-grabbing toddlers. My 22mo is stuck on all things "Elwo" & today I bought a refrigerator lock.

Thanks for the laughs :)
